Walking

Wales is a strong contender for the best walking country in Europe, maybe the world. It’s not just the 800 kms of National Trails, the five Areas of Outstanding National Beauty, the treasure trove of Welsh history or the astonishing ancient landscape. It’s the sheer variety packed into such a relatively small space.

You really can feel that you’re the only person for miles around in the morning and then have lunch in a traditional Welsh pub and sample local ales. Walk the 1,300 kms of the Wales Coastal Path from north to south, the first to outline an entire country.

To make it easier to get from place to place, there are plenty of luggage transfer companies and operators offering guided and self guided walking tours. To help you put together the perfect package search on our operators/handlers database along with accommodation and attractions.

Whether you want to join crowds of walkers at one of our popular walking destinations, or you would rather discover something a bit special - it's all here!
Wales boasts three very different national trails and over thirty regional long distance routes.
For a small country Wales has a varied and dramatic landscape, so you should have no trouble in finding a holiday that matches exactly what you’re looking for.

The Wales Coast Path opened on 5 May 2012. The 870 mile long Wales Coast Path will link up existing coastal trails to provide a continuous route from the outskirts of Chester to Chepstow.
